Buying through AWS Marketplace
Stitchwork can be bought as a SaaS subscription on AWS Marketplace, billed by Amazon against your existing AWS account. Seats are bought in Marketplace and appear in Stitchwork within seconds. This page covers what happens when you subscribe, how seats work, and what changes if you were already a customer.
Why buy it this way
Nothing about the product changes — it is the same workspace, the same features and the same data. What changes is procurement. Your subscription appears on your existing AWS bill, it draws down against committed AWS spend if you have an agreement in place, and there is no separate vendor to onboard, no purchase order and no invoice to approve. For a lot of teams that turns a three-week finance conversation into a button.
Marketplace purchases are made by an AWS account, not by an email address. If you do not have one, or your organisation buys software another way, sign up normally and we will agree terms directly — the product is identical either way.
Subscribing
- Find the Stitchwork listing in AWS Marketplace and choose View purchase options.
- Pick the number of seats and the contract length, then subscribe. Amazon takes the payment details — we never see them.
- Choose Set up your account. This is the step people miss: the subscription is live the moment you buy it, but until you follow that link there is no Stitchwork workspace attached to it.
- You land on Stitchwork with your subscription already recognised. Create your account, name your workspace, and you are in. There is nothing further to pay and no card to enter.
Go back to Your Marketplace subscriptions in the AWS console and choose Set up your account again. You will get a fresh link — the old one expires after an hour. AWS is billing you from the moment you subscribe, so it is worth doing the same day. If anything looks wrong, contact us and we will finish the setup by hand.
Seats
A Marketplace contract is for a fixed number of seats over a fixed term, and that number is the cap on your workspace. One seat is one person who can sign in — every row on your team roster, plus any invitation you have sent that has not been accepted yet. An invitation you revoke gives the seat straight back.
When you run out, inviting the next person fails with a message saying so rather than quietly succeeding. To add more, go to your subscription in AWS Marketplace and increase the quantity — the new seats are usable in Stitchwork within a few seconds, without anybody here doing anything. Buying mid-term is prorated by Amazon, not by us.
| What you do | Where | What happens here |
|---|---|---|
| Add seats | AWS Marketplace | The new cap applies within seconds. |
| Invite a colleague | Stitchwork, /team |
Uses one seat, whether or not they have accepted yet. |
| Renew | AWS Marketplace | Nothing — access continues uninterrupted. |
| Cancel | AWS Marketplace | Access continues to the end of the contract term, then stops. |
How access works
Your workspace is open for as long as your contract is live. Cancelling does not cut you off on the spot — you have paid to the end of the term and you keep the product until then, at which point the workspace locks and shows the standard locked page. Nothing is deleted. If you resubscribe, your data is exactly where you left it.
Invoices, receipts, tax documents, payment methods and refunds are all handled by AWS Marketplace, because that is who you are paying. We cannot see your payment details or issue a credit. Anything about the product itself is ours — get in touch as normal.
If you are already a Stitchwork customer
You can move an existing workspace onto a Marketplace subscription without losing anything. Subscribe as above, and when you reach the setup step sign in with your usual account instead of creating a new one. You will be asked to confirm which workspace to connect, and only the workspace owner or an admin can do it.
Your team, channels, catalogue, customers, quotes and orders are untouched — the only thing that changes is who bills you. Tell us before you do it so we can close off your existing terms cleanly and make sure you are not invoiced twice for the same month.
A Marketplace subscription connects to exactly one workspace and cannot be moved to another later without our help. If you run several brands as separate workspaces, you need a subscription for each — or talk to us about a private offer covering all of them.
Private offers
Marketplace is not only a public price list. If we have agreed bespoke terms with you — a negotiated rate, a longer commitment, a seat count that is not on the public listing — we can issue those as a private offer, visible only to your AWS account. You still get the AWS billing and procurement route; the numbers are the ones we agreed. This is usually the right shape for anything above a handful of seats.
